Lobby Gallery, First Floor

September 27-October 27, 2018

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 4, 6-8pm
Artist Talk: Tuesday, October 23, 5:30pm

Ekatrina G. Kazachenko was born in Russia in 1980, nine years before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Her work can best be viewed as a reflection of her Russian heritage through a temporal prism. Memories of childhood and experiences from adolescence remain important in helping to define her path as an artist. Says Kazachenko, “Many of my paintings are imbued with a symbolic sound. There is a feeling of timelessness born from landscapes of middle and northern Russia with the domes of old churches, bends of rivers and discreetly coppiced timbers that, with their leisure and majesty, resemble a prayer ritual.”
